Prokaryote and eukaryote gene expression studies

OGT's customised gene expression microarrays are ideal for researchers interested in

  • Focused gene expression microarrays; ideal for research concentrating on a few thousand transcripts
  • Studying gene expression in 'unusual' organisms
  • Alternatively spliced transcripts
  • Probe optimisation for use in gene expression array studies

OGT's customised gene expression arrays can be used to study up to 22,000 transcripts simultaneously and use 60mer oligonucleotides resulting in increased sensitivity for the detection of low abundance transcripts. Fabrication using ink jet in-situ synthesis printing ensures high quality spot morphologies and excellent reproducibility.

OGT's technology can be used to design both Prokaryotic and eukaryotic gene expression arrays. Our flexible service offers the customer customised arrays that can be hybridised either in the customer's own laboratory or in OGT's own laboratory in Oxford, UK. If required a full service is offered including sample preparation, hybridisation, scanning, analysis and data interpretation. Customers are welcome to visit OGT when their samples are being processed.

Case study

OGT participated in a joint study with Professor Duncan Maskell's group to profile the phenotyphic transcriptional status of C. jejuni NCTC11168 during 'standard' in vitro laboratory growth. During this study OGT designed and developed a high quality optimised oligonucleotide microarray to study gene expression. Click here to view a poster presentation of the study.
