1. Bioinformatician/Microarray Data Analyst
Oxford Gene Technology (OGT) is seeking a bioinformatician to join the Computational Biology group. The successful applicant will provide expertise in analysing data generated from high throughput microarray experiments. The individual will also be responsible for designing experiments contributing to internal R&D and product development projects.
We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative individual with a numerate background and significant experience in bioinformatics. Programming skills (Perl, Java or R) applied in a UNIX/Linux computing environment are essential, as are excellent communications skills and the ability to work on a variety of projects with scientists from a range of disciplines. Previous experience of analysing microarray data and performing statistical tests on large data sets is a distinct advantage.
The successful applicant will benefit from the existing broad skills base within the Computational Biology group which covers software development, microarray probe design and empirical microarray optimisations, database design and statistical data analysis. 2. Business Development Manager — Europe Central
Description of Role
OGT are seeking an ambitious, talented and motivated individual to drive the sales of OGT’s
innovative range of genomic products and services and build strong relationships within key
accounts. The successful candidate will make a significant contribution to the ambitious sales targets that are driving OGT’s commercial development.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Development of territory and account-specific sales plans
- Execution of plan to meet sales quotas
- Effectively prospect and generate new customer leads
- Map opportunities and key opinion leaders within the Central Europe district (Germany and Nordic)
- Utilization and maintenance of CRM
- Delivery of technical/scientific seminars and presentations on OGT products and services
- Demonstrate command of scientific knowledge to engage in high level collaborative, multi – faceted sales process
- Partner cross-functionally to appropriately address the needs of customer base
- Provide regular accurate revenue forecasts
- Manage new and existing customer base
- Develop and maintain strong customer connections at various levels in the organization
- Understand local competitive landscape and provide feedback to OGT
Background and Experience:
- Life Science Degree is required, advanced degree preferred
- Significant commercial experience
- German language preferred
- Experience in a strategic selling environment
- Demonstrated track record in lead generation and prospecting
- Highly adaptable and independent
- Strong desire to win business and establish long-term customer relationships
- Previous demonstrated success with complex sales and complex purchasing processes
- Work remotely, out of a Home office but with close links to the OGT office in Oxford
- 50% field travel at minimum
