Single cell analysis
Imagine....easy single cell results, 1000's of data points
Gene expression and miRNA analysis today has fundamental limiting steps
- the amount of starting material
- scanner resolution
Current solutions offer a crude estimate of gene expression by
- blending thousands or millions of cells and delivering an "averaged" gene expression result
- needing to amplify single cell amounts of mRNA/miRNA
No current method allows easy one-step preparation and analysis of single cell gene expression levels.
Current methods for single cell analysis include
- for preparation - FACs sorting, dilution
- for analysis - qRT-PCR/RT-PCR, FISH
These methods are
- multistep
- laborious in time
- difficult to repeat, and
- high in cost
making single cell analysis close to unachievable.
